What is it?
An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a document produced following the inspection and testing of an electrical installation, it is an in-depth assessment of the condition of the installation and its suitability for safe continued use. Sometimes it is also known as a landlords safety check, periodic inspection report, electrical wiring test etc.
Who can carry it out?
In short... PROSPARK. Testing is to be carried out by competent persons, skilled and experienced within the electrical industry. This is to ensure that the electrical installations to be inspected, are checked stringently for their compliance with current regulations. Book your EICR through us and as a member of NAPIT, you can rest assured that your report will be of the highest standard.
Why is it important?
A thorough EICR can highlight areas of an installation that may not have been installed in the correct way, and/or in a way that could give rise to safety issues. Some common problems frequently highlighted on EICRs include:
- Circuits at risk of overloading/overheating.
- Lack of earthing or bonding where required.
- Poor/inadequate selection of protective devices.
Will I receive a certificate?
Yes, once completed you will receive a detailed report. Should there be any recommendations for improvement, these will be highlighted under the observations section of that report. If you require any remedial work to be undertaken, a separate estimate can be provided for this in order to bring the installation up to standard.
How much will it cost?
As an EICR can be
carried out on installations ranging from a small bedsit, all the way up to large scale industrial factories, prices will differ. To find out how much your installation would cost, drop us an email hit
